Aman Niseko introduces a new vision of wellness

Aman’s fourth resort in Japan, “Aman Niseko”, is scheduled to open in 2026. Nestled in the great outdoors of Niseko, Hokkaido, this new sanctuary is drawing attention as Aman’s first fully fledged wellness-focused resort.

With abundant use of timber, the spaces exude natural warmth and serenity. Every suite features an open living area with a fireplace and a private onsen, creating a retreat that feels like your own residence—where mind and body can be deeply restored.

Set on the mid-slopes of Mount Moiwa within a vast nature reserve, Aman Niseko harmonises with the rich scenery of all four seasons, offering guests profound tranquility and a sense of renewal.

Spaces imbued with the Aman philosophy

Every Aman property cherishes a sense of belonging born from “peace”, “harmony”, and “deep reassurance”, and Aman Niseko is no exception.
At Aman Niseko, the following holistic wellness programmes are planned:

  • Treatment suites (single and double)
  • Finnish sauna, steam room, cold plunge, and hammam
  • Watsu (water therapy) chamber
  • Treatments integrating Japanese traditions and modern medicine, such as Kampo, shiatsu, and aromatherapy
  • Mindfulness sessions including meditation, yoga, and breathwork

These therapies are tailored to each guest’s condition, with the aim of fostering long-term wellbeing rather than providing only short-term relief.

Architecture and design embodying Japanese beauty

The resort is designed by Kerry Hill Architects. Blending Hokkaido’s natural environment with Japanese aesthetics, the spaces employ plentiful natural materials such as wood and stone to create a serene yet contemporary presence. Motifs inspired by Ainu culture are incorporated throughout, expressing respect for the region.

Beyond the reception and lounge in the spa pavilion lies a tearoom that evokes “wabi-sabi” in its quietude, inviting guests into a calm and reflective moment.

Four-season activities and exemplary hospitality

In winter, guests can enjoy skiing and snowboarding; in summer, hiking, mountain biking, and river rafting. Year-round, Aman Niseko offers diverse ways to connect with nature.

The main pavilion is planned to include:

  • Two restaurants and a private dining room
  • Whisky & cigar lounge
  • Ski shop and dedicated lockers
  • Library, gallery, boutique, and more

The resort features 30 standalone suite pavilions, each opening to majestic mountain vistas.

“Deep renewal” at Aman Niseko

Aman Niseko is envisioned as a retreat where the stay itself nurtures the renewal of mind and body. Embraced by Hokkaido’s vast nature and cared for with Aman’s hallmark hospitality, guests rediscover themselves in the quiet—this is the essence of the place.

As a pioneer charting new horizons in contemporary wellness tourism, Aman Niseko is poised to demonstrate its true value.
