Regional Revitalization and Tourism Promotion
Business & Talent Strategy commented, “We will continue to do our utmost to contribute to regional revitalization and tourism promotion in Kōshū City.”
Katsunuma is one of Japan’s leading wine-producing regions, and strong synergy with local tourism resources is anticipated.
In recent years, Marriott has expanded into several regional destinations across Japan, including Karuizawa, Nikko, Hakuba, and Nanki-Shirahama. The new Kōshū property aligns with this strategic trend, targeting both inbound recovery and sustainable tourism development in collaboration with local communities.
About Château Katsunuma
Located in Katsunuma, Kōshū City, Yamanashi Prefecture, this region is Japan’s oldest grape-growing area. In 1877, Yōsaburo Imamura began wine production, leading to the establishment of Château Katsunuma. For over 130 years, it has upheld a philosophy of “cultivation, brewing, and sales all handled in-house.”
This dedication to craftsmanship and consistency remains at the heart of its winemaking tradition.
