HOSHINOYA Asuka (Nara / Asuka Village) Scheduled to Open in 2027

Overview

Hoshino Resorts plans to open “HOSHINOYA Asuka,” a new property under its luxury brand “HOSHINOYA,” in Asuka Village, Nara Prefecture in 2027.
This will be the second HOSHINOYA property in Nara, following the planned 2026 opening of “HOSHINOYA Nara Prison.”
The low-rise, dispersed-style property will feature 35 guest villas designed to harmonize with the historic landscape through elements such as tiled roofs and terraced rice field–inspired gardens.

Highlights

Development in a Special Historic Landscape Preservation District

Asuka Village, designated entirely as a “Special Historic Landscape Preservation District,” imposes strict landscape protection rules. This project aims to coexist with local culture within this highly regulated environment.

“Low-Rise, Dispersed, Tiled Roofs” × “Terraced Rice Field Garden”

The low-rise buildings with traditional tiled roofs blend seamlessly into the village’s natural scenery. At the center of the site, a garden inspired by terraced rice fields offers seasonal landscapes.

Local Collaboration and Promotion of Stay-Based Tourism

Hoshino Resorts and Asuka Village previously signed a comprehensive partnership agreement for regional revitalization. This facility will help shift the area from a mainly day-trip destination to a stay-based tourism hub.

Surroundings

Asuka Village is the heart of ancient Japanese history, once home to the “Asuka Capital.”
Historic sites such as the Ishibutai Tumulus, Takamatsuzuka Tumulus, Kitora Tumulus, and Asuka-dera Temple are scattered throughout the region, offering a unique blend of culture and nature.
