Overview
Located at the southernmost tip of the Miura Peninsula on Jogashima Island, Kanagawa Prefecture, the small luxury resort brand “FUFU” will open a new property, FUFU Jogashima “Umi-kaze no Shirabe”. Reservations will open at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, with stays available from Sunday, March 15, 2026.
This resort development project originated from a basic agreement signed in May 2021 between Keikyu Corporation and Hulic Co., Ltd., aiming to redevelop the former Jogashima Keikyu Hotel site owned by Keikyu Corporation. By maximizing Jogashima’s natural scenery and panoramic ocean views, the project seeks to transform the area from a primarily day-trip destination into a stay-oriented resort.
The property will be operated by Kato Pleasure Group (KPG), a nationwide operator of luxury ryokan and resorts. This marks the first FUFU property to feature the ocean as its primary setting. The design incorporates Jogashima’s defining elements—horizon views, sea breezes, sunsets, and the sound of waves—into guestroom onsen baths and shared spaces, creating a resort centered on the experience of “savoring the scenery.”

Highlights
- FUFU’s first ocean resort
Known for locations amid mountains, forests, and satoyama landscapes, the FUFU brand now presents its first property with the ocean as the main attraction. Expansive Pacific views and the ever-changing expressions of sea and sky define the stay experience. - All rooms with ocean views and private hot springs
All 34 guest rooms are ocean-facing and equipped with natural hot spring baths. Guests can enjoy shimmering daytime seas, crimson sunsets, and nighttime waves while soaking. - Architecture designed in harmony with Jogashima’s terrain
According to Keikyu’s development information, the building is limited to four stories with a height of 14.47 meters, ensuring harmony with the island’s skyline and surrounding landscape. - Revitalization of the former Jogashima Keikyu Hotel site
The project repurposes the historic Jogashima Keikyu Hotel site, long cherished as a local tourism hub. The 2021 agreement emphasized openness to residents and visitors and contributing to the island’s overall appeal. - A core facility for stay-based tourism in the Miura area
Keikyu Group positions this resort as a central facility to expand tourism flows across Misaki and Jogashima, promoting travel experiences focused on cuisine, nature, and scenery.
Surroundings
Jogashima Island, located at the southernmost edge of the Miura Peninsula, is characterized by uplifted rocky coastlines and expansive ocean views. The island features Jogashima Park, a lighthouse, and coastal walking paths, allowing visitors to experience the natural formations and changing tides. On clear days, Mount Fuji can be seen across Sagami Bay, and sunsets envelop the island in dramatic color.
Keikyu Corporation has clearly stated its intention to shift the area from a day-trip destination to a place for extended stays and deeper appreciation. This resort serves as a symbolic centerpiece of that vision.
