Miyakojima evolves with Hilton’s dual-brand resort presence
Hilton’s lifestyle brand “Canopy by Hilton”, known for its “Neighborhood” philosophy, is set to debut in the Triver area of Miyakojima, Okinawa in spring 2026. The project will be developed adjacent to the Hilton Okinawa Miyakojima Resort, which opened in 2023, creating a resort zone that combines two distinctive Hilton brands.
Hilton has already introduced several brands across Okinawa, including “DoubleTree,” “Hilton,” and “Conrad.” Canopy will be the second property in Japan (following Kyoto) and the first lifestyle-focused Hilton brand in the region, designed to contribute to local revitalization. With two different brands targeting distinct audiences in the same area, the development will offer a wider range of stay experiences for travelers.

Highlights
1. Asia-Pacific’s first resort-style “Canopy by Hilton”
The Canopy by Hilton Okinawa Miyakojima Resort will be the first resort-type Canopy property in the Asia-Pacific region. While most of the brand’s approximately 40 locations worldwide are urban hotels, this project stands out as one of the few in a resort setting. Incorporating Japanese traditions and island culture into its design, it represents a unique expression within the Canopy portfolio.
2. Rooftop space with panoramic ocean views
The top floor will feature an outdoor infinity pool and rooftop bar offering stunning ocean views over Irabu Bridge and the crystal-blue Miyako waters. The combination of sky, sea, and sunset creates a truly one-of-a-kind setting for an unforgettable resort experience.

3. Community-oriented facilities fostering local interaction
The hotel will also include four two-story community and retail buildings designed for both guests and local residents. Planned tenants include cafés, restaurants, and shops offering regional specialties, aiming to serve as an open and vibrant hub that supports both local culture and tourism.
